Synopsis：

Pearl was brought up by her grandmother, who intended to make her a Taiwanese opera star. Grandma pulled all the strings to get Pearl into auditions and she did become a talented child star. However, behind all the glimmer and glamour on stage, she was lonely and sorrowful. Her childhood was consumed in “making money”. To delay Pearl’s physiological maturity, her grandma compressed Pearl’s chest with a cloth and took her to a clinic for injection of somatostatin in her knees.
Another turning point in her life is when she becomes a well-known singer in Southeast Asia and makes a substantial fortune. For the days that she doesn’t have to go up on the stage, she is locked in the house like she is under house arrest. The over-protection posed by her grandma makes her desperate for freedom. When Pearl meets Xie Wen-Qing at the age of 18, her yearning for love and belonging grows deeper and stronger.

年幼時的珍珠由阿嬤扶養，阿嬤特意栽培珍珠學習歌仔戲，並四處打通關係安排試鏡。成名後的珍珠，成了被人捧在手掌心的天才童星，然而人前風光，人後卻命運坎坷，當時佔據珍珠生活的只有「賺錢」二字。阿嬤為了讓珍珠保持童音、童顏，維持童星的演藝生命，用布條勒緊珍珠胸口，帶她到診所從膝蓋注射抑制生長素。
珍珠人生的另一高峰是從童星轉型成歌星，她紅遍東南亞，幫家裡賺進大把的鈔票，不作秀的日子，便被反鎖家中形同軟禁。阿嬤過度的保護，使珍珠更加渴望自由，直到18歲在秀場遇到謝文清，情竇初開的珍珠對文清產生了情愫。
珍珠毫無保留為愛離家，但生活的壓力及文清的外遇，珍珠最後堅持離婚。之後，文清在一場火災中喪生，珍珠承擔所有的控訴與自責，並徹底否定自我，把自已逼入死胡同。但世事難料，上天又為她鋪了一條嶄新的道路………..
