Synopsis：

Lin, A-man has been adhering to what her mother taught her: “No matter how hard life is, a family should always be together.” She was married to Chen, Guo-ji at the age of eighteen and gave birth to three children; although life is difficult, she has always been optimistic. Despite having only completed elementary school education, A-man draws life’s lessons from ancient proverbs. She is busy finding a way out of the predicament that she and her three kids are in when other people are complaining about life. The youngest son Jia-he’s cerebral palsy is getting worse, and with Guo-ji burying his head in the sand, A-man can only face the problem head on. As if that is not enough, Guo-ji’s friends incite him to gamble, which led to the ruin of his life, making him an alcoholic and abusive father and husband. In wretched despair, he drank himself to sudden death and ended his tumultuous life.

The eldest son Jia-xing is unruly like a wild horse, whereas the youngest son is like a puppet without the strings. The daughter even sold herself to pay off the debt for the family, and has been missing since then. No matter what challenges lay ahead, A-man refuses to give in to fate, and swears that she will one day reunite the family. She promised herself that as long as she lives, she will be a mother who forever protects and supports her children!

林阿滿-從小因為母親的教誨，一直牢牢記住「就算再怎麼困苦，一家人死都要守在一起」。十八歲出嫁，與丈夫陳國基生下三個孩子，辛苦不失樂觀。只有小學畢業，卻能從俗諺中講出人生的道理，當別人對命運在怨天尤人時，她則忙著為自己的困境和三個孩子尋找出路。小兒子家和腦性麻痺的病症日益嚴重，看到國基逃避的態度，她只有堅強面對。然而國基竟然受到損友慫恿，瞞著她去賭，國基的人生徹底毀了，變成一個酗酒家暴的丈夫和父親。國基最後在失意潦倒中飲酒猝死，結束了自己大起大落的人生。

大兒子家興桀傲不馴、有如脫韁野馬；小兒子則有如斷線的木偶，生活完全無法自理；大女兒更不惜把自已賣掉替家中抵償債務，從此與家人失散。不管未來還有多少考驗在等著，阿滿始終不肯向命運屈服，立誓一定要讓一家人團圓，她告訴自己，只要還有一口氣在，她永遠都是那個扶持兒女的阿母……！
