Synopsis：

Yu-Lan’s mother, Chiu-Lien, is considered the most beautiful woman in Jiufen. Chiu-Lien has a boyfriend, Shi-Chang, whom she loves dearly. They were planning their future together in sweet bliss, but Chiu-Lien’s greedy father, Jin-Mao, decides on a whim to sell his daughter’s virginity for money. From that night on, everyone’s fate was changed.
After Chiu-Lien’s daughter, Yu-Lan, was born, Shi-Chang didn’t believe Yu-Lan was his biological daughter and devised to give her away. Chiu-Lien tries to send her daughter to the house of her good friend, Xiu-Xia, in the middle of the night, but accidentally falls off a cliff and dies. When Yu-Lan was 10 years-old, a series of disasters fell upon her adoptive family; as a result, Xiu-Xia decides to sell her to a brothel, believing that Yu-Lan would be able to survive on her own. By chance, Yu-Lan’s neighbor, Chao-Yang, rescues her and she begins her journey as a runaway.
During her journey, Yu-Lan meets and saves a has-been singer, May. May loved Yu-Lan dearly and thought of her as her own daughter. May and Yu-Lan found a happy life living as mother and daughter together. Yu-Lan thought she had found comfort at last and was well from harm’s way, but who would have guessed that May’s boyfriend is in fact Shi-Chang! When Shi-Chang meets Yu-Lan and sees a striking resemblance to his deceased wife Chiu-Lien, he starts to pursue her. A jealous and raving mad May tries to push Yu-Lan off a flight of stairs, but ends up plunging to her own death.
As life goes on, Yu-Lan works hard to put herself through school. It is then that she reunites with Chao-Yang, the boy who saved her from the brothel, and the two of them fall in love with each other. Yet, Yu-Lan’s boss Chien-Shan uses Yu-Lan to sabotage Chao-Yang’s business. Yu-Lan’s whole life has always been caught in-between love and hatred—this time, it was no different. When she finds out that her ever-trustworthy boss, Chien-Shan, was actually her biological father, she decides to place righteousness above her own blood, and vows to clear her lover’s name.

旅途中搭救了過氣的歌星白梅，受到白梅的疼愛，自此結下了母女的情緣。玉蘭本以為災厄遠離，熟知，白梅男友竟是世昌，世昌看見玉蘭貌似前妻秋憐，開始瘋狂追求，引起白梅妒恨，欲推玉蘭下樓，沒想到陰錯陽差，反導致自己身亡。
之後玉蘭在半工半讀時與救她的朝陽重逢，兩人陷入熱戀，卻又被上司林千山利用來打擊朝陽的事業，玉蘭一生身陷在愛恨情仇之中，當她發現她一直深信不疑的上司林千山竟是自己的生父時，她決定大義滅親，為自己的愛人洗刷清白。
