Synopsis：

The word, "makeup", implies colors and attractive looks. In the show, there is an in-depth description on a small beauty shop, Gia-bao Makeup Co. (which is a leading domestic makeup firm) and Gin-tsai Group (which is a multinational makeup group).

Gin-Mei Chang grew up in a small beauty shop and has learned some makeup skills. But deep in her heart, she yearns to become a globally renowned makeup artist. Therefore, she applies for the position of assistant makeup artist with Gin-tsai Group. She often says, "I shall succeed". After she undergoes and overcomes hardship and adversities, she finally succeeds.

The show also describes how Gia-bao Makeup Co. (which is a leading domestic makeup firm) fights with Gin-tsai Group to keep its market share. In the show, we can see the employees of a multinational makeup group use despicable means to achieve their goals.

「彩妝」就如同字面上的意義來解釋，色彩絢麗，妝豔動人。劇中從最本土的家庭式美容院，到本土彩妝界的龍頭─寶佳彩妝，到跨國際的美容產業─晶彩集團，都有深入的描寫和刻畫。

張美金在美容院長大，學會了一些美髮梳妝的本事，認為自己這平凡安樂的過一生也不錯。但內心總是想成為頂尖彩妝師登上國際舞台，故事就從美金到「晶采」彩粧集團應徵彩妝助理開始，一連串的經歷讓這個小女生，看盡人情冷暖，嚐遍酸甜苦辣，終於做到她的口頭讒「我一定要成功」。

在彩妝界本土彩妝龍頭寶佳美，如何力抗外來連鎖集團晶采國際的蠶食鯨吞，也可以看到跨國企業集團裡，人人為了達到目的，不擇手段的爾虞我詐，都在本劇中一一呈現。
